No, didn't encrypt the message. I've only signed it. So DM requires explicit encryption, which ( I guess ) should be part of the library APIs
I'm playing with the nostr-tool to send and receive messages through the protocol. Everything works apart the DM. I've specified the recipient npub in the tags but I cannot se the message nor recive it. The response from the relay are always positive. Any clue? #Nostr #devnostr
Question: can #Nostr be used as pure protocol ( so ignoring the notes/media side of it ) via tool that shares meta ( which could contain anything ) between clients which are able to listen to those metas, using custom kind or NIP ? Like ( i.e. ) sharing my position in the meta specifying kind = 123456 or NIP = 654321 . Said first random thing that came up to my mind. The point is, can I use it as pure protocol to send "data" and proof-of for recipient confirmation? Is there any reason which could lead reply server to ban such messages? I know I might spin up a custom relay, but I want to know if this could be a reason to do so #developer #dev
Fundamental hint to those starting their permanence on #nostr. Block any "words" or "hashtag" you don't want in your feed ( i.e. bots, bitcoin, etc. ) and your life will be better and easier. If you are using #Amethyst is easy as: Side menu -> Security Filters -> Hidden words. You can thank me later 😉
This reply is a bot (nostr:nevent1qqstw55ze9hgw8dpsu3evpede925vkhwruh22ejuagkkquyk3cxqyxqppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qgspl3cruw8x8hl85ap5qaj4ku3veph4qy2vfhgzgxjvzcf6zdx6pvsrqsqqqqqpsyg5d2). And this is a sample of my feed, half of the messages are bots/bitcoin rubbish 🙁
I'm on the #Nostr world from half day and what I've found till now is: social is flooded by bot, bitcoin spammers and bitcoin fanatics. The purpose of Nostr is great and noble, but the "notes" submitted to it are mainly rubbish. My block list count already 100 users and I've barely found couple of things to follow 🙁
