I am so sorry for your loss.
Unfortunately, I know something about what you and your family are going through. I've lost two brothers in the last 5 years--one to suicide and one to cancer.
The pain will knock the wind out of you one day, and--someday--it will likely put a fire in your belly to make this world a better place.
It can be an exhausting rollercoaster of grief, anger, and determination. Don't numb it more than you need to. Face it and feel it when you can. There is joy, wisdom, and perspective on the other side of suffering.
My older brother (the serious one) would have turned 47 just 5 days ago (11/20). My younger brother (the goofball) would have turned 39 in January. They both died too young and had much left to do. Their absence hangs over every holiday. Both their birthdays are excruciating anniversaries, still.
You're not alone. I will be sending you and your family love and strength through the universe. I wish there was more I could do. My heart goes out to you. Good luck, my friend.
