I have 3 SIM cards. 2 in a dual-chip dumb phone and 1 in my company issued iPhone. I share one of my dumb SIM numbers to stores and people I deal with in the street. The second dumb SIM number I share with online stores or whoever needs to reach me when I am expecting an online purchase. Both have redirects to my real number that only my family knows. In my iPhone I have two do not disturb rules. One 24x7 that only allows incoming calls from family. Another 8x5 that allows incoming calls and notifications from teams and work directory. Everything else is routed from those two numbers (Street and Internet). Rarely I am annoyed by anyone. It’s very neat and not relying on virtual numbers or anything that breaks. It is a setup I’m using for 7 years with great success. And yeah, I ignore all SMS as they are usually always SPAM.
The contrary happens to me. When I say I don't have facebook they immediately asks what about your "instaaaaaa" which I also do not have. The usual curious expressions follows but many times it is replaced by admiration. Many people I interact with say exactly what you just said, I wish I could be like you, but family.... to what I always reply well, my family knows my number 😂 Exceptions exist. This lady that works on my shooting range needed to contact me for some documentation. When I said I din't have WhatsApp she got angry saying how do you expect to be contacted. I always answer the same: when I need to contact someone, I find my ways. If someone is interested in contacting me, either they will find a way or it is not of my interest, hence, not my problem. That one got very mad.

It’s not difficult though. I just love it. When people ask me for my WhatsApp and I say I don’t have it they get in awe. Some ask how do I survive, others how do I talk to other people, how to I get things done, etc. I say I call. They look at me with a wonder expression for half a second when they remember that phones do call and then change to that of course expression. I just love these interactions lol

In my country WhatsApp is omnipresent. Not using it means that I cannot even contact customer service or buy from the majority of digital stores because they do not use a land line anymore. Yet, I am the 0.00000001% stubborn without it. I try to bring people to Signal where I have 5 contacts at most. It would be hard to move people away from WhatsApp to yet another platform unless it’s utterly appealing.

A “Declaração à Nação” do ex-presidente foi redigida por Temer, quem colocou Alexandre lá, com auxílio de alguns daqueles personagens do famigerado jantar organizado por Naji Nahas, o bilionário que sozinho já foi o maior acionista da Petrobras e conseguiu quebrar toda a Bolsa de Valores do RJ conforme a história contada no livro Crash. No jantar estavam Kassab, Roberto D’Ávila (diretor da Globo News) e Saad (Presidente da Band), o Pereira (diretor do Estado de SP), Yunes (Adv. preso pela PF por articular propinas entre agentes de Estado), Cutait (Executivo do Sírio Libanês) e Tucci ( já cotado para sabatina do STF), ouvindo as piadas jocosas do Marinho sobre o Bolsonaro que acabaram de “ajudar”. Alguns desses personagens sao mencionados no livro “Farra dos Guardanapos” pois também atenderam o outro famigerado jantar com Sérgio Cabral dançando bebaço com outros enebriados como Sadala, Cavendish, Sérgio Côrtes, Wilson Carlos e outros 150 convidados que, em grande parte, ou já foram presos pela PF ou já ocuparam cargos públicos como secretarias estaduais ou diretorias comissionadas. Não existe Mito. Não existe Pai dos Pobres. Existem narrativas construídas por marqueteiros para perpetuar o objetivo maior do poder: perdurar.
Outro dia ouvi algo interessante. Na idade média médicos sangravam doentes na esperança de drenar as impurezas que causavam a patologia. Os pacientes que se submetiam ao tratamento o faziam porque o especialista disse que era assim. Não questionavam os resultados da do experimento que validou a eficácia do tratamento pois o expert é quem provavelmente validou e, portanto, sua recomendação é a verdade. À luz da história os pacientes parecem idiotas. Como vão parecer daqui há 100 anos quem relativiza a verdade hoje?

Sai do jogo onde essas coisas são relevantes. Se muda para uma cidade de 20000 habitantes onde tudo é perto fácil e simples. Compra uma casa, produz a própria energia, capta e trata a própria água. Planta. Tira seu dinheiro do país e/ou constrói sua reserva em crypto.
Você passa a ser meio foda-se para tudo, dá risada de tudo, não toma lados nem partidos e só ri desse circo todo sem nunca se preocupar 🤷♂️
Excellent point mentioning attention economy and easy money. It is possibly attracting people that are simply looking to get by and sharing whatever without any knowledge-based grounding. It steals from us the most precious commodity of all, time. Time that indeed could have being used to consume information but from reputable sources, those from real experts with experience and those from builders that are knee-deep in their respective fields.
Just by writting this I am questioning the value of the information I am getting based on the medium I am extracting it from.
I mean that social media platforms pay for engagement. I believe some people may care about this payment instead of being simply seeking validation. How the payment works, is something I do not understand.
I couldn't say. As a not heavy social media user, I am clueless in regard to monetization.
Another perspective: who is an anti social in real life and is pretty much fine with it instead of craving for connection?
