How is a VPN related to the Alby/Kiwi connection?
It's starting to actually work. Just got upvotes this morning I believe. On the backend it requires a lot more queries than the Twitter use case. I can seriously see ditching reddit with this.
Prepare capacity upgrades. #noStrudel's #communities features is about to melt racks. So long #hashtags
If you like Bill Murray and Hunter Thompson can you imagine Murray playing Hunty? Enjoyed this more than I realized during. It was on prime but I may buy it on DVD to secure the future.
Is it just me or does nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm not work anymore over LNDHub?

Wow, maybe we're having a communities moment. #nostrdev
This is what we need to hear. It could be said more kindly but I love this post for the sheer honesty of it.
Gave this a shot and Alby won't finish with the final Connect button, but otherwise looks good. I'll have to file a bug with Alby.
Kiwi browser supports Chrome extensions on Android. I have been using it, and it seems to work well.
Which extension is working for you? Alby doesn't seem to finish the sign in for me in Kiwi.
Every relay should have a service account. I don't make the rules.
Summaries of pull request discussions. I wouldn't say it's good but it's the best thing so far.
Although a tempting narrative, is there data to support this no-algorithm hypothesis? Perhaps there's value in collecting secondary contact info in order to follow up with a sample of users on how their onboarding experience was and if they stopped using Nostr, why?
Metallica - Whiplash, off their first album Kill 'Em All.
Does it make sense for the nostr to have a test suite?
I just found NostrDebug and with the nostr army knife it's a reasonable start but I just wonder like if you were writing a client, maybe even against your will, and you wanted to expose it to all the kinds and common variations, what would you do?
#nostrdev
Ok, I was looking to follow a few people that came from reddit to see how it's going with onboarding.
Watched this last night and enjoyed it overall. In Lenny, Dustin Hoffman plays Lenny Bruce from the start of the controversial comedian's career to the end. Hoffman does an amazing job. I like the storytelling as well with "interviews" after the fact. It's also interesting to see all the people and scenery of daily life, clubs and courts depicted. Like the comedian, the movie is not for the easily offended.
Was this the #reddit effect? (the spike a few days ago)

Idea: Protocol Center. A site that makes it easy to browse protocols of all kinds. NIPs, BIPs, PEPs, FEPs, XEPs, internet RFCs. Process documents linked for each as well as mailing lists, discussion. Highlights success stories.
After ~1 hour of implementation, with source code: https://davidsterry.com/protocols/
Drafts and scheduled sends.
Extensive caching, high visibility into relay performance, clear controls around additional relay comms. Look at noStrudel for its handling of relays.
I think we could all benefit from more visibility into how our relays are doing. noStrudel is exemplary in this respect.
Relays should also be able to alert users about maintenance etc.
Can ChatGPT help us get up to speed on a repo with lots of issues?
Maybe. The 4097 token limit means issues with more than 10-15 comments will need to be handled special but otherwise it seems useful as a rubber ducky. 🐤 #nostrdev
What do you think of its output?

Hacked-together code is here:
Different problem. I've converted hex to emojis but here I'm talking about mostly getting the names in but not needing megabytes and megabytes of improbably necessary npub characters to handle say 99% of nicks.
If you wanted to provide a mapping of npubs to display_names in static form, how many characters of the npub do you need? This is a variation of the birthday problem. Just curious about what chance of collision is acceptable as I trade it off against a need for hundreds of profile requests. #nostrdev
Anyone else a fan of DAWless electronic music? Trying to figure out a few hashtags to stalk and contribute to. #music #stemstr #dawless #volca
It's actually great. Tried going from iMovie to Premier but ultimately wanted FOSS so blender and a cheatsheet and it's great for the 2-4 layers I've ever needed.
I feel like Nostr needs more diversity of content, hence the hashtag question.
