Episode 11 of The Floyd Void, and we're digging deep with a tribute to the band's original driving force; Syd Barrett.
In addition to those early Floyd songs, you'll hear the best solo Barrett tunes as well (3 with David Gilmour on guitar / bass & Richard Wright on keys). Plus the highest quality live recording available of the original band live in '67, Rick's Syd tribute "Pink's Song", as well as Roger Waters, David Gilmour & Nick Mason performing live songs from the Syd-era.
Syd's music remains influential to this day, and his absence inspired much of what the band created in the years immediately after.
Stream it live, tonight at 7PM EST at https://IZRadio.com

> Wish I could find my Casascius physical bitcoins that I bought back in those days.
I bought ONE for around $8. I was broke and the seller was like you sure you only want one? Luckily it stayed lost in the house for years (or it would have been done much earlier) and I cashed out at $62k.
I could have turned $250 into 2 million before taxes. Head smack...
This is a classic. He asks him if he has tickets to the show right at the end. He didn't, he left 2 at will call for him - then I invited him up on stage to perform!
Do you know why / how some zap videos stay up and watchable post stream and others are only watchable live?
He's always been staunchly anti-war though, it's a consistent position at least. Anyone who opposes the war machine gets attacked by it's mouthpieces from all sides. I think he comes off much better in a long-form interview (like Rogan) overall. I personally don't agree with many of his positions but he remains an influential artist for me. As a teenager, I really connected with The Wall and it's themes. Even though they are at opposite political spectrums; it's clear neither Waters nor Nugent have anyone advising them and both do and say whatever they want.
The Mrs. use to think the same thing. Boring, slow music that didn't interest her. Then, back in '99 I took her along to 3 Roger Waters shows and something just clicked for her. She was surprised how many of the classic tunes she actually knew and in that era he was probably at his live peak vocally and musically and had a great live band that included 2 Floyd addendum players. He was also slightly less fundamental politically and while the themes were always there, the message was less in your face.
At one point, close to half of his live band was Jewish. That's not something someone who is truly hateful would do, in my opinion.
Check out my band "Imperial Zero" performing Rage Against the Machine's Bulls on Parade LIVE high-energy style.

nostr:npub1efvh0km06s5fqtz2mczx9yutnc6f4ksn39f6z0nz5n8hgde6x7vqp04jx2 there's a lot to overcome when it comes to getting people into EVs. And while it may be cheaper, it's a huge pain in the ass if you don't have a level 2 charger at home. The experience of owning or leasing a non-Tesla EV just sucks., especially if you don't have a level 2 charger at home.
That's changing though, with the upcoming support of many brands for the Tesla charging network.
