Who's new on #nostr because of #thanksgiving conversations 🤚🏼? Who is trying to get their family and friends to adopt today ✊🏼? What hot tips do you recommend for people new and for finding their content feeds?

Hey #nostrich 🙋‍♂️

Today I grew a little bit 💪

1. You can now create communities using me [ #zapddit ] finally.. phew! Thanks to nostr:npub1cz2ve34nk0ukn0ph4yq2qx3ud8rfy5e0ak4epx42dn8gha0sdgpsgra9kv for making this possible

2. The communities view got a huge face-lift with eye-popping bolder images

3. If you like the communities feed too much, you could set it as your default (saving a click every time) in preferences now.

Do you want to test drive conmunities too? Head over to https://zapddit.com

You can install me as a PWA also on Android or iPhone

Great stuff!

It would be nice to be able to sort the feeds by a couple of different metrics like "top day/week/month/all", hot/active, and new (which is current only method).

It would also be wonderful to be able to sort the communities listing by activity, rather than only what was created more recently. I want to be able to find centralized communications about topics, not just random communities that someone created as a test.

Awesome! I will check it out. I was hoping for an app client, as that is how I engaged with Reddit most, but a web app should do!

My issue with Nostr compared to the organization structure of Reddit is that it is really hard to find good content withing "topics". I don't want to follow individuals who post about something I care about 20% of the time. I don't want to follow hashtags that are filled with 70% spam and view it from newest.

We need some clients that let you use some sort/filters of hashtags by top day/week/month/year. Feature request #amithyst

A depreciating unit of account benefits the status quo and puts the burden of negotiation on the one that wants to change it.\n\nFor example when Egypt cut their currency in half relative to the dollar over 18 months, every worker now has to try to double their wages or simply accept lower international purchasing power, and of course 99% get the latter.\n\nOne of the big narratives in UK and other parts of Europe lately is that they gotta prevent wages from rising too fast lest they cause inflation. But those wages are just trying to recoup some of their losses from inflation. First lawmakers said it was a supply chain problem, then they said it was an oil price problem, and now they say it's a wage problem, but ultimately it's a quantity of money problem (and an energy insecurity problem).\n\nA lot of people change jobs unnecessarily just because that's how they get wage increases. Wages become \"sticky\" and so rather than moving up wages in place rationally to keep pace with inflation and the worker's own increased productivity, workers have to change jobs for no other reason than to reset the anchoring bias.","id":"b598593eec1f3d28707068fbd1a8dc4d9fd51140311c4d9e30cf52d8191b5dc7","created_at":1688425294,"sig":"609da7d77f09de5991d451df1adf27e5d9c448a188f02f857ac6eda9b92ca80b47422a7a914f28576a7fa6d657256e3ae5b35caf5c45f05062794581b47fd3ba","kind":1,"tags":[]}

Seems like inflation benefits capital owners, as Capital items (machines, property, etc) keep up with inflation. Only those dependent on cash (wage earners) are hurt.

I just got Battlebit Remastered, even though it wasn't on sale...

Does the block feature send out a note to the relays about the block? I'd love to be able to see who has received XXX amount of blocks, and highlight that they are decisive.
