maybe a DNS issue? ..i use Quad9 DNS on my router.. ..not sure if that helps
i'm able to view github pages/repos with it, but i don't have a github account to test logging in
"a minimal installation of Debian" means only select "standard system utilities" on the Software selection screen (uncheck all the rest) ..this is the best starting point for all my deb-post-install scripts..
