The day today was tough. I was with my grandma (my stepfather's mother, but for me simply my grandmother of the heart) at one of her many doctor's visits (she is seriously ill with multiple sclerosis). Afterwards, we went to the park and then cooked together and remembered. My grandma, who taught me to play tennis (and for years won all the family tournaments with me as my doubles partner). The woman who learned me everything about horseback riding (especially respect for animals). The fun-loving grandmother who awakened in me, as a very little girl, the enthusiasm for hiking and nature (there is no animal or plant that she does not know and she knows a story about all of them). And the lady who can give the Parisians a lesson in elegance (all of them!). It breaks my heart to see how this so energetic and warm-hearted woman can only get a cup out of the cupboard in great pain.

Until the outbreak of the disease, she lived in Munich. Whenever I visited her, we went to the mountains. And since pictures and photos are my passion and my life, I would like to conclude this note with a picture of a place with which we are very much connected. A lot of laughter. Many first times. The Eibsee at the Zugspitze.

(Grandma, I promised you that we will go there again this year and I will find a way to make this trip unforgettable even with a wheelchair - with lots of laughter).

I go home with tears in my eyes. There I will call a few very special people in my life, arrange a meeting and tell them how much they mean to me. I do this too rarely.
