A good rule of thumb for life:

A new contractor rolls up with a Jesus bumper sticker and goes on and on about how honest he is and what a good deal he likes to give people? Run.

Your new friend says they hate drama and just want to be around positive people in their life? Run.

Decent folks don't say this stuff, because it doesn't occur to them to act any other way. Why would that even be something anyone needs to say? Horrible people have learned that others find them dishonest / unbearable. Thus they proactively deny being dishonest or unbearable...

Comparison is the thief of joy.
