Itself not my fault folks are playing in a poorly constructed sandbox that they've deluded themselves into thinking is secure. 😇

Bitcoin filters be like

Americans think 100 years is a long time and Europeans think 100 miles is a long distance.

Had anyone dug into the massive surge in nostr account activity over the past 2 weeks?

Looks like 90% of note volume is coming from a new cohort of accounts with zero trust ranking (no connection to the core growth of active users.)

Someone attempting a spam / Sybil attack?

Sure, there's a ton of shit that's terribly broken with the world, but I hit 400 pounds on my leg press sets today so I've got that going for me.

While we have strong disagreements, I must admit I respect Roger Ver's conviction in sticking to his ideals.

For example, we now know he sold a ton of his Bitcoin around the time of the fork, presumably to buy Bitcoin Cash.

However, it seems that the same conviction that led to him becoming Bitcoin Jesus and a billionaire has also led to a lot of suffering these past years.

I hope Roger finds peace.

Between Keonne Rodriguez, Changpeng Zhao, and now Roger Ver... it's been a very bad week for OG Blockchain dot info crew.

I might end up running a stratum pool. Been messing around with it a bit but it's not ready.

Keep Bitcoin weird 😂

Re: testnet drama.

Last I checked, there was about 1 EH (1,000 PH) of sha256d hashrate for rent through on an easy API. If you really oppose what nostr:npub17u5dneh8qjp43ecfxr6u5e9sjamsmxyuekrg2nlxrrk6nj9rsyrqywt4tp is doing, you can do the following:

- Set up a testnet node.

- On that node, use the invalidateblock RPC to locally reject blocks that you think Lopp created.

- Setup a Stratum v1 server and connect it to your testnet node.

- Rent hashrate and point it at your stratum server.

That should be enough, but if someone tries to exploit the testnet difficulty drop to create long reorgs, set the time on your testnet node to 119 minutes in the future.

But, if you want to be productive, I suggest just switching to signet.

I've been playing around with setting up stratum servers and it's a lot harder than I expected!

I published my original reasoning a MONTH ago on the development mailing list. It's not my problem if people who are using testnet don't read the mailing list. They really should!

I'm dyin' from this drama. 😆

3 days for 3 pounds of 3 inch thick deliciousness

Making the most of a $50 steak.

Good things come to those who wait!

The funny thing about the testnet shenanigans is that the scammers who are running exchanges and trading testnet tokens for real value noticed almost immediately a week ago.

Whereas the actual Bitcoin developers doing legitimate testing seem to be noticing now.

Looking forward to getting more support for testnet4!

Good sticker to have on your air gapped machines.

Testnet is one of the oldest shitcoins in existence!
