At the moment BTC crossed 100k USD, I was unknowingly staring in disbelief at my 11k JPY weekly grocery bill, which continues to move upwards with no slowdown in sight. Without savings in bitcoin, I wonder what hope we would have?
Perhaps more interesting than the 100k milestone in US dollars is the new all-time high vs gold, which has only now cleared the November 2021 level. It goes a long way to explaining why, only now, does it finally start to feel in real terms that bitcoin is worth more than three years ago. Best not to measure against the thing that is rapidly debasing.
My guess is we chop around at these levels for a while, but the direction is clear. おめでとう、みんな！Onwards! 💪

Hello everyone, it's time for an introduction!
I'm a linguist living in Japan with a background in European languages, although I'm aiming to improve my Japanese and will attempt to make most of my posts bilingual.
I'll perhaps mainly be posting photography, since it's my hobby, but I'm also into bitcoin and will always appreciate any sats sent my way! ☺️
I'll be attending BTC Tokyo next week too, so may also make some posts related to that. I'm especially into the Lightning network and run a side-gig helping to onboard businesses onto LN payment solutions with a self-custodial bias – perhaps there will also be more on that later.
