Lou's Diner
V loved this diner. It was the great equalizer. It didn't matter what role you thought you played in the theater of society - once you walked through those polished steel doors, you were simply a guest in Lou's world. V sighed and straightened his thin tie. He reached into his pocket, pulled out a single shell casing and slowly placed it on the counter.
whoever you want to be.
there's space for you.
there's a group of people out there in the world who want that person, who want you.
just gotta decide who you want to be and have the courage to be that person.
don't make this your only strategy lol. but i think it's a very useful adjunct. also, our analytical minds are often just plain wrong. they're scared and thinking small
do things you don't think will work
i try to regularly do things that my analytical mind perceives as having a low probability of success
what if it does work out? what if a whole new world of opportunity opens up?
and if it doesn't work out, who cares. try again
a new creative pursuit
a new arena
halting first steps
stumbling awkward
uncomfortable embarrassing
they birth insight
awareness skill progress
embrace them
appreciate them
thank them
they are the very path
to beauty mastery delight
for some, creativity came in a rush, carrying them along. for her it was different - always a slow drip, tiny droplets of creative energy. the experience was excruciatingly slow at times, but she had learned to catch each droplet, to preserve and protect every one. eventually, almost imperceptibly, they would always coalesce into something stunning, something magnificent, a delightful surprise. she liked it this way
this is my best guess. not a statement of fact lol
it's just a cup of coffee. a familiar taste. a familiar smell. a few moments of tranquility. the noise and commotion of life falling out of focus. a warm smile that starts within and floats to our lips. a stride of strength and purpose into the day
the mingled scents of hot coffee and salt water teased her nose. overhead, a few gulls hurtled by in a chaotic aerial dance. the ocean breeze was refreshing - a cooling balance to the warm morning sun. she dug her toes into the sand, opened the case file, and began to read
playing with this currently. let's see what happens.
if you want a linear life, then think, plan, and strategize in a linear way. linear is not what i want
set a goal and then marginally under allocate resources (time, energy, focus) to its pursuit. the perceived difference between what is necessary and what is being given is the space where magic can flow in
memories from the future, or "future memories" as he called them. lately, they had been occupied by the rodeo girl. he could see her standing there: dusty boots, freckles, hair dancing in the wind. at first, these images had been indistinguishable from those of his regular imagination. then, one day, he saw it: she blinked. he wished he could undo that blink, wished he had never noticed it
you have to decide what you think a meaningful human experience is to you and then go live it
i don't think AI is going to take that from you. arguably, it will help you do it
is an AI better at writing than me, maybe. who cares. the point of learning to write was to enjoy the experience and create something beautiful
is a robot stronger and faster than me? yeah. does that mean i shouldn't go to the gym and experience the pleasure of building my body, of course not
