Since my notifications this afternoon are cluttered with people discussing and complaining about my “zaps in vs. zaps out” ratio (wtf people 😂), I’ll take this moment to remind everyone that it’s essentially a pointless metric, especially for anyone who has been active and zapping for a while.

Zaps are sent for many reasons. They are used for fun, for V4V exchange, for paying someone when you owe them money, or for work done or a service provided. People self-zap and have zap wars sending the same sats back and forth multiple times. People send private/anonymous zaps. There are even fake zaps. Lol. It’s one of the most easily manipulated metrics on nostr, and even for legit zaps, there are so many variables at play that it’s silly to get mad at someone over their “ratio.” 😂

Please, I urge you to go create actual value for someone and stop obsessing over whatever this is about. 🤦‍♂️
