*Is Amethyst storing my avatar image that I uploaded to the Amethyst at imgur? I uploaded an image on amethyst and now it shows an imgur URL next to it.

I followed random ppl to get a sense of the culture and community here. I in no way endorse anyone I am following or anything they say. I could probably do a better job at vetting but I can barely use my app.

I heard it was recommended one use a browser extension for desktop to store key, but I never did ( already compromised myself several times). I won't ever do a browser extension, but for the future is just using Amethyst app secure enough or should I take other additional precautions?
