Where’s the privacy in this? Primal wants me to “activate” my wallet with my info before I can zap from it?

My skepticism levels run high. I believe 10% of the MSM has elements of truth.

I stopped watching the 5pm news back in 2012.

I don’t make a habit of visiting news websites either. I’ve been fairly disconnected from pop culture and news for a long time.

I have a few favorite podcasts such as TSP, Wealthsteading, Main Street Business and a couple in technology. I’m an IT guy and work for a global company.

I react to news with a healthy dose of skepticism balanced with my faith. When I do see a news report, I can typically call BS right away and identify the agenda behind it - such as DEI, ESG, a distraction, a lie or a cover up. I think this is a gift - I can generally see this before most people (it comes naturally).

Bottom line is for the last 10 years or so, I’ve been indifferent to news and current events.

But now, I see a big shift coming, some good things and some real bad. I feel the need to get reconnected with what’s going on and what’s coming.

But I don’t want to spend hours looking for decent resources.

I’d like some decent news sources for the US and the Middle East.

Wait, what? Umbrel can run on windows?

What sources do you recommend?

I agree with you that BTC is absolutely the best. No argument from me. But you are only looking at the technology.

Consider the human factor. Power corrupts.

You know as well as I do that money changes hands in back room deals at every opportunity.

The folks who decide what will be used to replace the SWIFT system are not as pure as the wind-driven snow.

They don’t want Bitcoin to be used because it is auditable. Bitcoin will NOT be adopted as a US currency or any major country.

The BEST products do not always go to market. The BEST athletes to not always get drafted. The BEST employees do not always get promoted. The smartest scientists do not always get recognized.

Most of the time, money, power and politics shape the economic and financial landscape.

Bitcoin will be critical to survive the next crisis, but I also believe that the next crisis will be used to accelerate adoption of the tools of the bankers and politicians.

And I think there’s a good chance that it will be XRP.

So why not throw a few bucks on the craps table? I’m not talking about large amounts that I can’t afford to lose. But I think my odds are in my favor over the next 2-3 years.

If you use strike, you can choose a low priority timeframe and lower your $8 fee to just a few pennies.

I meant to say diversifying, not divesting.

Even though I see #Bitcoin as the perfect currency, I’ve come to the conclusion that the world does not. (Breaking news, right? 😆)

My heart is all in on #BTC .

But I need to be pragmatic.

The banking systems are more likely to adopt Ripple (at least in some other countries anyway).

So why be a purest and exclude myself from opportunity?.(Which has described me in the past.)

It doesn’t make sense to miss out on XRP gains just because I’m a bigger #btc fan.

Don’t hate me because I’m practical. I’m just trying to survive and support my family.

What do you all think about this. Do your convictions prevent you from divesting?

Is it just me or is a lot of web traffic (443/8443) just slightly slower the last few days?

Every website I hit spins just a tad longer before pasting on my screen.

lagging just enough to irritate me but fast enough to be fine. Not bad enough to open a ticket with my ISP.

(It’s not my router. My speeds still test at nearly 1Gb)

A Bitcoin only wallet is not end all solution but it’s a step in the right direction.

I try not to overwhelm the noobs with info this deep.

They do it to “own” the program they are advertising with. They don’t to it to advertise to the end users. They’ve got the doctors doing that.

I missed this in the news

I feel your pain. I went through something similar with one of my house purchases.

The bank even wanted copies of all of my retirement account statements! (IRAs, 401Ks, etc).

I’m just thinking out loud here for a minute…..for discussion.

We know the corrupt (and very powerful) bankers of the world will not relinquish CONTROL of the monetary system.

Therefore it’s a given the whatever CBDC they select will not be #bitcoin.

This doesn’t diminish the value of #btc, but it’s a reminder that in the long term, whatever #CBDC they select will be one they can always INFLATE.

Don’t smoke the hopium that Bitcoin will be the CBDC.

In the meantime, keep stacking sats.
