Folks, check the size of your profile image. Many folks are using massive 10MB gifs, some 50MB gifs.

This takes seconds to load on mobile if it loads at all.

Your readers are wasting a lot of data simply trying to download your profile picture before reading your post.

Just as a reference, my profile pic is 800x800 pixels (which is super high resolution) and only consumes 57kb.

Guilty - just improved from 2mb to 56k.

I think it's safe to say that Perplexity has become my internet search engine of choice. Once I made it the default search for the URL bar, I've been able to zoom in on the info I need more quickly. It's like ChatGPT only with all the sourcing.

what did you settle on?

Running Gboard with graphene blocking network connections. So you lose the gif search but get all the autocorrect goodness with none of the privacy issues

this pixel8a is smaller than the pixel6 pro, i can feel the dopamine comedown 😅

i also really like it tho cause that screen was too big and despite looking better, i (used to) prefer small where my fingers can actually reach acros. 🫠 will take some adjusting.

also finding a good keyboard, i am now autocorrectless on florisboard, loottta backspacing goin on 🦍
