Bookmarked for the weekend. I was fortunate to witness some smart conversations from people I respect at the cigar lounge this weekend.

I feel a little bit more "in the know".

Me too. It's not my default approach to life. So I have to make a conscious effort to know when it is the right time and place.

This tends to happen to people like me after you become a parent. Well at least for me it did.

Bare in mind for just about every problem or obstacle in life, there's been a hundred books written on that very problem.

I'm in avid reader. I'm not coming to these conclusions as my original ideas. Almost 💯 of the time, I've likely read through someone else's account on the matter and my brain has just filed it away for a subsequent nostr note.

You charge 2.5x what you normally charge bc you don't want the job, bc you think they would be a pain to work with.

After a few weeks working with them it turns out you like them.

Are they valuing your contribution bc your good or bc you charged them sooooo much.

That is the question of the day.

Good morning to you and the family.

When I was a young in (pre-high school age). I'd wake up for school and my pops would pop into my room and tell me, I'm not going to school today. I'm going into the city with him to run errands.

Those were always the best school days to me. They didn't have podcasts back then so we would actually talk during the almost 3 hour drive into the city.

I'd remember being amped and excited about the day ahead but my pops feeling quite the opposite way in fact. Like "a whole day wasted".

Upstate NY down to the Bronx then Queens. We'd get back home late, after dark usually and I always had a blast. Breakdancing was a new thing in the city. I'd briefly catch up with some older cousins and get news on what's "cool and hip". Show up at school the next day to broadcast the previous days adventure to my class mates.

I say all that to say, I have to get down the city one day this week probably Thursday. And now I know why my pops felt the way he felt having to go into the city.

Mini me turned 28 last week. Instead of my early morning phone call to wish her a happy born day, she called me instead @430 am to call me before I called her. She's more of texter then a phone talker, so I was a bit anxious upon seeing her call.

Also bare in mind she's a night owl, sleeps when the world is moving and shaking and awake when the world is sleeping.

Her question "What was I doing in life when I turned 28!"

So when they say girls mature faster then boys, I do subscribe to this. I remember having that same convo with my dad, but I was turning 50. So yeah. Girls are operating on a whole other level then the boys in many ways.

Even when their not listening, they're hearing. It will register will them when they see it bc you kept repeating it. Facts. My daughter has quoted me on such things I didn't think she was paying attention to.

A cup of ☕ taking a stroll through the woods before sunrise with nothing but the deer, rabbit and and foxes out. It's chilly, but not cold.

Yes, very much so. Makes sense of course as you get older. But think way back as a teen or even a young adult, for me wasnt always so obvious. The benefit of wisdom.

My bachelor pad in the city many many moons ago had one. It was an out of pocket expense and worth it.

I go through baby wipes at twice the rate that I go through TP.

And there are no babies in this house.

A thing I've observed much later in life then most. But I'e been fortunate to often be around people that have that effect on me. While coincidental in my case, not a bad idea to be intentionally surrounded by people like that in life.

This morning's trail steps were a bit of a drag @ss event. Not sure I'd even call it a jog.

So def going to be a couple doses of #coffee to kick off the day. It's going to taste good, but it really doesn't matter. It's going to serve as more of a fix then a Tuesday Treat.
