If you like this idea Cuauhtemoc Villa was doing this years ago with #bokashi balls in Californian rivers so all credit to him.
Much better for smaller scale watercourses and clandestine river cleaning.

Good question! Depends on the pollution. Should be fine in most cases but if it were highly contaminated with heavy metals I would obviously want to avoid doing so. Guess I would have to test it at the end to find out.
I was going to submerge the bags in bokashi microbes out it in the river and then redunk then back in the mother culture and put them back out. I don't know how many times I will be able to do this but was thinking about putting them on the river bank with plants suitable for remediation planted into them.
Because the water companies here chronically underinvest in everything so release raw sewage into the river while making record profits and paying dividends to shareholders.
There is also nitrogen runoff from farms etc leaching into the waterways too. The government fines the water companies but they don't actually do anything to help the problem.
This should actually help fix the pollution issue and I will send them a bill for it later. 😁
The river cleaning device is getting there filled another sandbag with #biochar looks like at least another 5 to go!
Hopefully if it's not too cold I can get some more biochar burning in the kiln tomorrow.
