Life is far more interesting when you try to find the stuff you are wrong about as opposed to trying to convince others about the stuff you think you are right about.

Why use legacy platforms?
Now I’m struck again by the thought of why I post anything to #Nostr.
This happens every so often as it does create dissonance within me in terms of being pretty content with my life choices, not caring/having no control over what others do with their lives, but also not wanting to completely isolate myself from other humans since there could be others I could still learn from.
So then I realize I still post here selfishly, in the hopes that something I say will reveal a flaw in my reasoning that someone else will realize and somehow be able to convince me of.
The risk of doing so though is the additional exposure to the sheer mindlessness that is most people’s lives. This does still make me sad but I guess it can also be a useful reminder since I really shouldn’t let it bother me at all.
Anyway, here’s hoping I eventually come across someone who can change my mind about something important, but if not, that’s okay too.

Another day spent using both sides of my brain, exercising, and enjoying what’s left of nature.
Another day spent not caring about religion, political theater, the fiat price of anything, children, or the meaning/purpose of life.
It’s been another great day.

I’ve given up on the majority of the population. They’re too distracted to notice or care.
I’m just happy I have better options for money and communication now.
I see normies as a threat to that.
These are called “wedge issues”.
The magicians are using misdirection and distraction to steal from us.
War is another great example.
A tale as old as time unfortunately and people fall for it still. I call such people “wedgies”.
The problem is not just the magicians though. The bigger problem is the rest of us who keep falling for the same tricks. At some point, we will have to accept that humans are just plain stupid and most actually want to be controlled.

Have had the same thing happen and yes, suspect it’s vpn related.
I definitely agree. I myself would include literature (and music) in the art category above though.
Ah the classic logical error of thinking “if some A leads to B, then B must lead to A”.
The more accurate picture of religion is that some murdering assholes are religious and some murdering assholes are not religious. Whether you are religious or not will not change whether you are a murdering asshole. Religion will give you a great excuse to kill others though.
Similarly, some religious people are kind and honest. Some religious people are not kind and honest. Some non religious people are kind and honest, and some non religious people are not kind and honest.
The slickest trick of religious dogma is to make those believers think that religion puts the good in others and takes out the bad. This is not how it works.
Religion takes credit for the good in people that would be there anyway and blames a “lack of faith” for those with “evil in them”. Religion completely dismisses those who are religious and are evil (just look at history for a looooooong list of examples) as well as those people who are good and non-religious.
I suggest you read this a few times as I know from experience it takes time to grasp.

Agreed and I do think it’s less likely that #bitcoin and #nostr would have been created by the state for the reasons you suggest.
#Wikileaks to me though has always been very suspicious. Especially since any information that has been successfully shared was of absolutely no real consequence (think Panama papers saying rich people don’t pay taxes, Snowden saying we are all being watched, etc). None of it was in the least bit surprising but could certainly have been an attempt to create legitimacy among other actual whistleblower targets.
And as much as it would suck to be Ed #Snowden if he were legitimate, I can definitely imagine a world in which he remains a very active intelligence asset.
Not sure how my Saturday became conspiracy Saturday, but here I am nonetheless. :)
I’ve thought for a long time that it would be very easy for the ruling elite to identify and eliminate threats to their systems of control.
Step one would be to create a honeypot that seems like a legitimate grassroots movement. Examples of this could very well include such things as #wikileaks, #Bitcoin, and #nostr.
Step two is to sit back and allow all the dissidents to flock around these false freedom technologies and reveal themselves.
Step three is usual cloak and dagger stuff whereby the core dissidents are slowly and selectively silenced.
As much as I love #bitcoin and #nostr, I do have to keep such things in mind. Yes, the technology is open source but using them is not fully anonymous unless extreme precautions are undertaken.
The threat to the current financial system and global elite that true freedom money and speech represents all but guarantees that big brother is watching and closely entwined with it all.
I personally view the situation as one where something is better than nothing though, which is where the world was before #bitcoin and #nostr. So yeah, even if these are just honeypots designed to identify and entrap people who are anti-government, at least it provides some kind of platform for people to learn about the flaws with the current system and a benchmark by which to measure other available options for money and communication.
While most people will continue to choose captivity over choice, I am still grateful for the chance to experience some degree of freedom when it comes to money and speech in my lifetime.

While I will let others reach their own conclusions about you, I suspect you are half AI, half psyop.
Those familiar with the craft will recognize the signs.
You keep doing you. Some will fall for it, but this technology is ultimately immune to your legacy approaches.

The fiat price of everything is an illusion if an infinite money printer exists and is controlled by only a small group of elites.
The fact that this was an acceptable reality for me for so long blows my mind and just goes to show how dumb we all were about money prior to plan B becoming a reality.
I know this kind of thing floats some people’s boat, and that’s great given that it’s not hurting anyone, but I can’t help but laugh at the thought of taking pictures of oneself in a bathing suit and shoes, in a bathroom no less.
Again, no judgment whatsoever and I’m happy that your body looks healthy and well cared for, but man, humans are so weird sometimes. :)
I completely agree with you. Always assume the person behind the wheel of another vehicle is either an idiot, impaired, or having a medical emergency. Driving is incredibly dangerous.
That said, I absolutely subscribe to the notion that it is better to be predictable than considerate. So if a left turn light is green, I’m cautious but don’t dilly dally.
Nothing is worse though than someone slowing down to let a pedestrian cross at an intersection without a stop sign. If I’m behind you in a car, you’re an asshole. If I’m the pedestrian, you’re also an asshole because you are expecting me to trust that you see me and are slowing down to let me cross. I’m not walking out in front of a slowly moving vehicle regardless of how many hand signals you give.
Things that can provide unlimited joy:
1. Nature/the outdoors
2. Good relationships
3. Physical fitness/health
4. Creativity and art
5. Introspection and personal growth
6. Efficiency
7. Accomplishment
Hedonistic pursuits like food, sex, drugs, etc are fine but require moderation as the pleasure/joy they provide is physiologically limited. Going beyond these limits will ultimately cause harm.
Does anyone have suggestions for other things that should be added to the list above?
Thanks in advance.

Ah - a smart comment in a sea of garbage.
Well done. :)
Freedom sounds like something nice but most people are so institutionalized from birth that they actually prefer to live under the systems of control that have been built around them.
These systems are especially difficult to escape when they provide their captives with near constant distraction and neatly packaged versions of community, purpose, and sense of superiority over others. It’s like an especially potent form of Stockholm syndrome develops.
The truth is that very few people can actually handle thinking for themselves. From my own experience, I can say it has taken me years and plenty of resources to even begin to do so. And still, I regularly catch myself regressing into the patterns that define the systems that I seek so desperately to escape.
I’ve said it before but it bears repeating (mostly for myself): humans are stupid and anxious animals who represent nothing special at all in the context of the universe. We only make fools of ourselves and others rich by believing differently.
I reject meaning or purpose. I can and do still find joy and fulfillment without believing the lies that are constantly being sold to me by those who seek to profit from my human weaknesses.
Talk about first world problems. :)

As usual, a thoughtful and well reasoned reply. Thank you Sir.
And I agree, legos represent time well spent. :)
Thanks for the link. Greed can certainly be an effective source of motivation. However, it is mostly a subconscious one, and for whatever reason, that kind of thing bothers me. Perhaps it’s the fact that subconscious sources of motivation are easily exploited by things like advertising, marketing, etc. I personally don’t have anything against being consciously greedy as, in this sense at least, it represents more of a personal choice.
I’m still working all this out for myself, but so far it’s been a good thought exercise.
