Indeed. But shouldn't we welcome that attack? If Nostr cannot hold its own against such an onslaught then its reach exceeds its grasp, and a better decentralised protocol needs to be developed.

With Telegram now being targeted aggressively by Western governments, the West takes another step towards migration to Nostr. I suspect that 2 or 3 years from now, as the fascism intensifies, Nostr will become mainstream.
5 years from now, when the West has gone full authoritarian, DeSoc's time will come.
