Misskey biggest instance growing faster than Mastodons again ๐Ÿ‘€

New Burial + Kode9 vinyls arrived!! #bandcampFriday

Some alternative app icon designs, needs color, black and white is too corpoborin'

Threadiverse growth is slowing, but still strong, together they represent the 3rd most active platforms behind Mastodon and Misskey!~

Congrats to the #lemmy and #kbin projects, long live the fediverse!

nostr:npub19th4h5zn6zykdw79zpvjfzdf9up2lp9czl4ljgzx53kuxg48cnsqlfpvnj nostr:npub120zh308gs69j3vwgvvrzgglv58vsk3q0vef43uajyu0lc3mtldsq2p33r2 Yeah its just me working on nostr:npub120zh308gs69j3vwgvvrzgglv58vsk3q0vef43uajyu0lc3mtldsq2p33r2 and I get you, I started out knowing nobody and build my following from nothing.

Just keep at it, it's easy to become fedi famous if you just be yourself ๐Ÿ˜‰

I wish I had more money so I could help finance some other fediverse projects, it's not fair that some of the most amazing projects are the most underfunded.

I will do the next best thing and use my following to boost their donation links!

Nostr is nice, but total decentralization isnโ€™t user friendly.

Federation allows some centralization, and thatโ€™s crucial, not only for UX but also scalability and more.

Big instances are not ideal, but are better than a near empty ecosystem.

Why is Threads adopting ActivityPub and not Nostr? ๐Ÿ˜‰

nostr:npub17kfhkklkmrupgrqr8q293xwywp5wjhnzr7atrt0rn0q4wnttz3zqdghsl3 Not really, you can use S3 for media storage, and you can disable storing remote media and load the origin media urls!

nostr:npub17pr5vu8qmnkunjrkw3vjwtdvqd4wwqlzlelva4faukykxwqu2kyqdp0m22 I have adjusted the settings, you shouldn't see that anymore!

These are my first 3 milestones, saving them for last ๐Ÿ˜… #pixelfed

One of my nostr:npub18kfwmfcg4r3vyle6lmssg38xc9pmkrztwe8tgxvwmacegnwpdf8sxjnpv5 milestones for nostr:npub120zh308gs69j3vwgvvrzgglv58vsk3q0vef43uajyu0lc3mtldsq2p33r2 is resilient media storage and processing

If your S3 provider goes down, it will switch to a backup provider seamlessly and sync data once primary is back online

Transcoding media on remote servers will also be possible, and you'll be able to define parameters like mime type - allowing you to have a separate video transcoding server

There is an increasing number of microservices that power various parts of the nostr:npub120zh308gs69j3vwgvvrzgglv58vsk3q0vef43uajyu0lc3mtldsq2p33r2 ecosystem, and it's pretty neat.

Our mobile app reaches out to a microservice api to get a list of pixelfed instances that are open and meet reqs, it's basically just a cached response of another microservice running on fedidb.

Another example is https://beagle.pixelfed.net, our new discovery and auth service, will be sharing more in a future blog post โœจ
