I wonder who this is about 😅

nostr:npub12tyk735v52ju032qahe3k2r520jlsujaem6xr8n0ex6u7eqj0anq59vnqc It would be super helpful if Pixelfed Implemented the ability to edit posts, before losing focus on entirely new projects.

nostr:npub18ztv8tq3g3ez9yvlsf0madcytjm48cg78ezyhwal3xyg39rc45zsc7dnv7 What are you talking about, we shipped that feature two months ago!

Maybe read the changelog before complaining?

nostr:npub120zh308gs69j3vwgvvrzgglv58vsk3q0vef43uajyu0lc3mtldsq2p33r2 Please add 'Hide boosts from this account', nostr:npub12tyk735v52ju032qahe3k2r520jlsujaem6xr8n0ex6u7eqj0anq59vnqc. I really appreciate that feature at all, but I don't wanna see boosts from people who boost text messages on Pixelfed.

Good morning, and wow that sup post took off!

Will share some videos of the app later today 😉

sup, checkout dansup's sup.

nostr:npub12tyk735v52ju032qahe3k2r520jlsujaem6xr8n0ex6u7eqj0anq59vnqc I love your ideas and concepts but I have to admit I’m very sad to hear that the iOS version will be written in react native and not swift ui. I really wanted to like pixelfed, but the app feels very out of place on iOS and janky not because it’s not a well made app (it is) but it feels very “androidy” on iOS which will not bode well for adoption, and lead me to delete it and go back to browsing pixelfed via Mona app instead.

nostr:npub148r5g02uufh0tt9c72r84vz9tlntuavkzlm5rp88dvarlt5ynwhsj3sdla The latest build is much smoother (but sadly isn't out yet), but you do you!

nostr:npub12tyk735v52ju032qahe3k2r520jlsujaem6xr8n0ex6u7eqj0anq59vnqc ooooh, a group chat on a corporate owned messenger that lacks privacy for discussing a decentralized, privacy focused, encrypted messenger!

nostr:npub13dcwvg9sajrw9cjlhy4y3u8c6a0le9jn67038nrwzygt5zkg8uyss25aw9 before you cut yourself on all that edge, we also have a matrix channel

btw, if you want to help with sup. join our discord!

I'll make a dedicated channel when I wake up and use it to update progress and gather feedback!

The mobile app is written in React Native, and the backend in async PHP (surprisingly high perf).

Both client and server code will be open sourced when we release the beta, and we'll target F-Droid support and TestFlight!

I will maintain the primary sup. server, but you will be able to run your own, and connect from the app easily!

nostr:npub12tyk735v52ju032qahe3k2r520jlsujaem6xr8n0ex6u7eqj0anq59vnqc wasn't someone else working on a thing called "Sup"?

nostr:npub175xmk7p9dul7guytswp6gcm0hszw24mzds2r54nup97js8nc54aqdv2fat I mentioned it a few months ago, are you maybe thinking of that?

Pixelfed does have a command to reclaim usernames that conflict with our list of ReservedUsernames, and I've had to use it a few times.

I don't anticipate any future uses since our web/api routes are nailed down and this is the only reason we implemented this.

https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/blob/dev/app/Console/Commands/FixUsernames.php#L74-L79

nostr:npub12tyk735v52ju032qahe3k2r520jlsujaem6xr8n0ex6u7eqj0anq59vnqc Do what #Threads did: Instead of seizing the user handle away, they just added “app” at the end. So just do “SupApp” instead.

Another suggestion is to use a subdomain (sup.pixelfed.social) or a different domain (avoid SupPix as that sounds…yeah…just do not do it! 😂).

nostr:npub1kjauf5ae53pstgv9u7mkfw2lzluyvtqhev6tj5fx85kfthck7r8qgke5gq I may use pixelfed.com/sup, that being said, Pixelfed does have a list of reserved usernames and command that should be run regularly to "take over" usernames that may conflict with url routes (and they've been needed a few times)
