Central planners doing their thing and not giving a f%$k about a segment of their constituency, and the people who were getting reamed found out they were powerful—and then discovered just how much the central planners didn’t give a f$%k about them.

Can we, as a species, please stop pretending like we’re okay living in steel, glass and concrete?

These are from Jørn Utzon’s ‘Casa Lis’—from 1972, for God’s sake.

love the reds and greens here, the wash of color in the reflection on the road, the green scene with the RED backpack and little orange bag

Ooh that is a great challenge. Not photography in the traditional art sense, but I did a photogrammetry project for a sculptor awhile back with like 900-1000 photos of a clay original and had to grapple with this problem. It was painful. Low light but needed to minimize noise and maximize depth of field and detail of the clay surface. It was only possible to finally get a good result by using polarizing filters with tripod and remote shutter release, and like 3 second exposures. She used the photogrammetry model to make a bronze reduction for Frank Sinatra’s daughter, or granddaughter, I forget which.

Do it, but as a cautionary tale aside: I did this once with my dad, I was 15, he was 45. I was fine and got stronger, he got stronger and then blew out his shoulder.
