Try this: Bitcoin still worth around $20k in 2030
This is actually an important point. It will help us make a case if we don’t vilify but instead acknowledge how this situation has organically arisen from what used to be a good idea.
(how) do I know if my nostr private key is safe on #Alby?
We have to talk to people less about #Bitcoin and more about how the current system is broken for them.
And not in terms of yield curve inversion but in terms of why they can’t save, why they’re dissatisfied with their jobs and why everything is so expensive.
And then they have to make the leap that it doesn’t have to be that way. That’s what opens the door for #Bitcoin.
Who is going to the Bitcoin 2023 conference?
Google Maps should have a feature to display whether a restaurant/cafe/bar accepts lightning payments

Won’t be back in NYC for another month or so, but I’m really curious what a socratic seminar is?!
Speaking of #[4] ! Is my t-shirt on the way? Haven’t gotten a dispatch notification yet…
I used to be very convinced of this too. I think there will continue to be governments like El Salvador that adopt a Bitcoin standard because they have nothing to lose.
However, we shouldn’t hold our breath for a wealthy western nation to adopt Bitcoin.
They may wait too long and be sucked into transition crises before being able to buy Bitcoin.
Yep, it ain’t gonna be easy! We have a very rewarding uphill battle ahead of us. The good news is it’s gonna feel right the whole way.
Switching it up with some of my favorite poetry:
It is not seemly to be famous
Celebrity does not exalt;
There is no need to hoard your writings
And to preserve them in a vault.
To give your all - this is creation,
And not - to deafen and eclipse.
How shameful, when you have no meaning,
To be on everybody's lips!
Try not to live as a pretender,
But so to manage your affairs
That you are loved by wide expanses,
And hear the call of future years.
Leave blanks in life, not in your papers,
And do not ever hesitate
To pencil out whole chunks, whole chapters
Of your existence, of your fate.
Into obscurity retiring
Try your development to hide,
As autumn mist on early mornings
Conceals the dreaming countryside.
The others, step by step, will follow
The living imprint of your feet;
But you yourself must not distinguish
Your victory from your defeat.
And never for a single moment
Betray your credo or pretend,
But be alive-only this matters-
Alive and burning to the end.

4 ways for no-coiners to get started with Bitcoin (from easy to hard). Forward these to at least 4 no-coiners today!
1) Acquire a small amount of Bitcoin on a regulated exchange (like Coinbase, Kraken or Robinhood) to start familiarizing yourself with the important practices surrounding Bitcoin ownership.
2) Download a Bitcoin lightning wallet app to your phone (e.g. Wallet of Satoshi, Strike or Zeus) to familiarize yourself with the Lightning network and how it allows you to send Bitcoin instantly essentially for free.
3) Download a client for the new social network protocol nostr e.g. Damus (iOS), Amethyst (Android) or snort.social (Desktop) to plug into the a new ad-free, value-4-value social network that natively integrates Bitcoin as a payment network. Once you’re there, reach out to me to connect.
4) Buy a hardware wallet device (like Ledger or Coldcard) to familiarize yourself with the idea of custodying your own Bitcoin in cold storage.
And if they care why they should get started, you can share this post with them: https://soirbleu.substack.com/p/transformative-money
