"Don't wait to buy real estate. Buy real estate and wait." That came up in a conversation with a family member last night. I flipped it around and said, "Don't wait to buy Bitcoin. Buy Bitcoin and have a low time preference."
I can’t blame him for wanting to buy a home now, especially with a young family. He’s looking for space—a yard for the kids and a place to host family gatherings. But buying a $1.4 million home in Hawaii, with a $7k monthly mortgage, doesn’t strike me as an investment. The house is beautiful, no doubt, and he’s already doing well with a nice home and a rental property. This new purchase, though, is intended to be more than a home—it’s meant to be an investment, a place to live, and something to pass down to future generations.
I did my best to make the case for Bitcoin instead. We've had long discussions about Bitcoin and why now is such a pivotal time to get some. But I think his mind is made up. Time will tell if his decision pans out the way he hopes—or if my perspective on Bitcoin starts to resonate.

Got into Bitcoin in 2020 COVID era and have been working in the Bitcoin industry since March 2022. In such a short amount of time (which feels like an eternity), I’ve learned so much about money, freedom, and human rights, government and politics, etc more than all my years in grade school/college combined. So many great and free education at our finger tips.

The creation of money shouldn’t be free. If so, it would be centralized and abused.
