I've discovered that people who explore higher education tend to narrow their worldview significantly to what they've been brainwashed to believe. The vast majority of scientific discovery and invention have come from self educated individuals rather than people who memorize the words of those that came before them. At a certain point, usually on path to masters or doctorate, these individuals have developed such an identity toward this line of thinking that to claim it is wrong or that there are other options would attack their very being.

I think the biggest problem we see from the maxi side is the future bloat of a scaled out monero blockchain and the storage resources it would require since everything is done on the base layer in monero. Full node I operation, if monero succeeds and scales, is going to be a resource intensive as eth. This is why I personally opted for liquid. Hidden tramsaction assets and amounts, leaves layer 1 alone.
