Lurking, posting occasionally, and zapping anonymously. Observing always. Pulmonaut nostr-java is my hobby project.

Thanks Rob, I'll definitely check them out.

I've been using hey(dot)com for a few years now, but I'm thinking of switching to another email provider.

I don't get hey's reluctance to implement push notifications — like, how am I supposed to know when I've got new mail? It's increasingly difficult to keep my "Imbox" organised, which defeats the purpose of using the service.

I'm open to exploring alternatives besides Proton. Recommendations welcome.

I like the idea...

So, I set up my own relay instance using nostr-rs-relay. I mean, who wants to use someone else's relay to test their own apps, right? Plus, I can also use it as a backup for my own notes, which is pretty sweet...

Automatic client-side translation is a great feature, but I would like the option to choose which languages are not translated and which language is used for translation. Currently, it appears to default to English, but I'm not entirely sure...

#nostr #Amethyst

How do you enforce this law without forcing vpn providers to log and monitor the traffic and report "offenders"?

What would be the unintended consequences?

Regarding "media on nostr," https://bountsr.org/journalism-on-nostr/

I'm fascinated by the idea of getting rid of fact-checkers and using prediction markets to introduce "skin-in-the-game" in journalism. DLC, once fully implemented on LN, could play a crucial role in making this approach feasible.

Nostr could somehow help orchestrate this.

Do you remember #Dissenter, Gab's short-lived attempt at creating a decentralised commenting system, that despite its practical applications, was removed from the Chrome web store?

https://reclaimthenet.org/dissenter-free-speech-browser

Nostr fixes this.

I recently submitted a feature request to #Amethyst for a fully Decentralised Commenting System on their app. If fully implemented, it would would give users the ability to comment on and follow others' comments about any web resource on the internet.

Testing #Amethyst's implementation of r-tags...

The Church relied on the State to exert its influence, just as the modern State relies on its control of money to maintain power.

With Bitcoin there's a reason for optimism about the future. 🧡

Actually, the reason for using LN addresses in notes is to enable Lightning prisms, as explained in the article: https://bitkarrot.substack.com/p/lightning-prisms-with-lnbits

My 2 sats:

To implement this feature, users would need to be able to set an optional LN address for each note they create. If no address is specified, zaps would be directed to the address on their profile.

Nip it!
