ALL the bizarre, irrational, and destructive policies that now afflict American society, politics, and culture would end overnight if they weren’t being financed by the state and by huge international foundations. This suggests that major public intellectuals such a Dennis Prager, Steve Bannon, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Douglas Murray, and Dave Rubin should consider directing more attention and energy to combatting the corrosive influence of debt financing and the protection rackets it generates. The destructive ideology they rightfully abhor and criticize would quickly wither and die if it weren’t being financed with an endless supply of US government funny money.

I did a post about the purpose of slow practice in Tai Chi.

‘Long Jin’ is a skill developed through practicing VERY slowly.

In essence Tai Chi is a mind body practice where mind or ‘Yi’ becomes a primary driver of the art. Yi also roughly translates as intention or will.

Long Jin means releasing tension from the foot all the way through the body and out to the finger tips. Or in other words moving the mind or focus sequentially through the body becoming acutely aware of each part - foot, ankle, calf, knee, thigh, hips, lower torso, upper torso, arms, hands and fingers. And releasing each place as much as possible.

This process creates a pathway for power or ‘Jin’ to mobilise in the body. And it has to be done slowly for that pathway to build properly so there are no blocks or kinks.

Ultimately the mind must penetrate and saturate the whole body - a skill which develops over time.

It was around 18 years before I started to practise this way and it is a hard taskmaster.

However I’ve tended to find that the most uncomfortable training methods can bear the most fruit.

Should profile pictures be NIP 95?

In NIP95, images come from relays and can be verified to not have changed since the author posted.

Update on Nostr.Band:

- you can now login w/ extension and there is a menu at the top with quick access to your profile, posts, following list (technically login was already there, but it wasn't obvious)

- you can now choose which object types to search through (all/posts/profiles are supported atm)

- on the profile search results page there are new 'group action' buttons, that allow you to quickly follow/unfollow the listed profiles

Group actions might be interesting:

- you want to clean up your own following list - in top menu select 'Following' and get your contact list listed, then can unfollow some quicker

- you can copy someone else's following - go to a profile, click on 'Following' under it, get their contact list, follow some people quicker

- you can quickly follow/unfollow profiles matching a keyword or a hashtag

And you know what, contact list kind:3 is just a special case of NIP-51 lists. Quick profile-list editing comes next.

And you know what, your home feed from contact list is just a special case of following any list. If clients let you follow a list, then you could have many topical feeds.

And lists can be liked, zapped etc, and some will get popular. The best ones might even be used by clients for onboarding. And this way we might finally start solving the discovery/grownostr problem, without relying on algos.
