I flashed a Pixel 4 with GrapheneOS two years ago and haven't looked back since.

I'm now on my second edition, a refurbished Pixel 5, it just works.

Today I reflashed the old Pixel with 'default' Google Bloat... and yuck, it feels like you're being assaulted by the phone at every turn. Google this. Google that. All the apps sharing data with each other and with the panopticon, whether you like it or not.

Never tried Calyx but I got the sense that compromising between privacy and conveniencee meant larping while leaving the back door open wide.

Often overlooked, security is especially important if you're using it for bitcoin hot wallets. Which is why I'm so surprised by all the bitcoiners that run Calyx and something like Samourai Wallet.

Now tell me about samourai

Was running the bisq samourai dojo triad with sparrow and coldcard in the background. Isolated nkyc stack ecosystem.

Build myself rather than get through app store, and with the added context of graphene... seemed legit.

I know the devs are a grumpy bunch but that alone doesn't put me off.

But... I'm evolving/rethinking my whole strategy this year based on everything I learned.

So open to challenge/advice.

Seems like a solid setup. Pretty much what use (outside of some self-custodial Lightning wallets)

Sparrow is the best on chain desktop wallet, and Samourai is the best on-chain mobile wallet if you care at all about on-chain privacy.
