the marketing was pretty great though, eh?

now if we can get like 6 more Oceans, preferably running Sv2 off the bat and FOSS, that would be great.

do any mining pools have their software stack available as FOSS?

Stratum v2 Reference implementation is getting there, but I don't know of any others. and that's a problem imho. I recognized this a while back when I started looking into sv2 and wanted to run a pool for myself. limited FOSS out there for it. almost no docs or guides. so I was excited to hear about Ocean and watched the whole stream. but then no code and felt rugged. now am highly skeptical since there was littel technical explanation as to how this thing would work. they advertised "transparency" but lots of things have yet to be revealed. they advertised "decentralization" but only one entity can run the code. they advertised "pleb mining" but you still have to have a certain amount of hash to make it reasonable. just seemed like marketing in bad faith or obscurity. everything is good for bitcoin but this was a huge disappointment. and the people running it I admire from a technical standpoint so my let down is further soured. but we must all slay our heroes.

want to build a FOSS pool guide/stack using Sv2? OpenSats would probably like that.

We need a nostr pleb pool

I thought about trying to build a pool a year or so ago, just because I wanted to learn. I found all of the FOSS tools and guides to do it.

where?
