Exactly what I say. Change your yardstick. When measuring the value of hard money, it should be measured against another form of hard money. Gold is the next best thing on that scale so is by far the best denominator to use.

Seems reasonable. It doesn't really make sense to compare sound money to unsound money. Gold may not be a currency, but I still consider it to have the important properties of sound money.
It seems like this method will allow you to see whether Bitcoin is growing in value or just reflecting fiat debasement. There are also many fiats to consider. I may start doing this.
