Maby I am wrong. But I know that Biden did not lick Putins ass an never requested Ukraine to wave the white flag.

I would not know a president that bragged about having the biggest IQ, bragging about his golf tournaments, while ordering strikes in yemen.

Ir is just too obvious, that he does not care about america. Otherwise he would invest time in his presidency instead in commercialising himself as a person.

I'm not defending Trump but he is not uniquely embarrassing or self-serving. Biden seems to have been involved in all sorts of nefarious (and self-serving) dealings, and by the end of his presidency he couldn't find his way off the stage without help. We are used to ridiculous figure heads in the White House.

The primary question right now is not whether Trump is ridiculous or not; it's the shape and direction of the creeping surveillance state and the continued restrictions on civil liberties.

My argument is rather, that he sells himself with wrong etiquetts.

As anti-elitarian, while only creating a new group of elites.

He brands himself as economic genious, while not having a good history of economy. Maby one would best describe him to have made a lot of money as a con-man.

I have no problem with someone being malicious. I have a problem with missunderstandings. And I am afraid many support him for values he does not offer.

From that note, I would have trouble knowing which US politician you're talking about. Bernie Sanders comes to mind first, but maybe...

Biden?

Mamdani?

Trump?

Harris?

Newsom?

The economic ignorance, the pseudo-antielitism, the followers who will not see their values actually represented in the policy... this is true of all the politicians I listed here and probably nearly every major candidate out there.

The reason I keep engaging on this is because TDS tends to blind people to the larger questions. For instance, if so many Americans hadn't fallen prey to it, they would have seen the dangerous violations of freedom of speech and civil liberites under the Biden administration.

I agree, that probably every politician has shortcomings of the promises. To me it is still that other politicians put out their goals and follow them up with actions that push to fullfill their goals and based on overestimating and the power of parlament not all the promises can be kept. Or maby they change their mind.

But which of them would claim that they can shoot someone in NY cities streets without going to prison? Who of them brags about being intransparent as Trump does it? Which other political candidate does not stop to mention what a sureal genious her or himself is?

Biden made rallies where he includes citizen of all parties, while Trump is talking about his supporters as patriots and opposing voices as enemies. This language is not coming from other people.

What is TDS?

I'm not sure what rallies you mean that Biden led or supported, but Democrats are less tolerant - by far - of people from across the aisle than Republicans. (And I say this as someone who was until recently registered Democrat in the US.) If I were to go to a MAGA rally with a Bernie or Biden shirt I would expect to be mocked but I wouldn't be afraid. If I were to go to a leftist rally with a Trump hat, I would be scared of physical violence.

Talking of opposing voices as enemies is very common in both parties, and Trump in particular has been on the receiving end of so many media lies and so much political vitriol that most on the US left - and based on my exchanges with you, I would say around the world - genuinely have no idea what he has or hasn't done. He's overt about his desire to censor where Biden was dishonest about his censorship, which seems even worse to me.

Trump's particular style - the pompous, grandious talk - is grating, but that's not the main problem with him in my opinion.

The issues I have with Trump are pretty much the same issues I have with the other candidates - basically his bowing to the military-industrial complex and other power structures and more generally the centralization of power and the ramifications of central banking.

TDS= Trump Derangement Syndrome

Most political violence comes from the right wing. Facts are facts and those do not change based on opinion or depending on how many beliefe it or not.

Also it was Trump which pardoned 1500 criminals, which participated in a coup, where the white house was raided.

No matter how many report on it or not. Numbers of violent acts are a very fix numeric thing. Has nothing to do with feelings, nor with number of articles nor oppinions or other tendencies. It is measurable just the same way one can measure air temperature. There are facts and we can accept them or deny them. But we will not have the opportunity to change the past.
