I hope nostr clients can improve detection of repeated content being shared at some point, and group it.

This annoyance isn't just happening in this particular nostr client.

"average cypherpunk, Chriso, Paulo, FiatJaf, Moss and 28 others shared..."

if the same people share and re-share you can hide it temporarily from the notes tab with the buttons on top of the page. I use the feature often.

Agreed! I think the best practice would be to show a shared note at the point in my timeline where it was most recently shared, and at no other point in the "past."

This way boosts still function to get a note seen by more people, but timelines aren't dominated by a single popular note showing up over and over again.
