That was an odd call, not sure whether it was scam or genuine. Sharing here in case other people have experienced a similar thing.

I had a call from an unknown number which I would normally ignore but I’ve been expecting a call from my doctor and annoyingly they often show up as Caller ID Unknown, so I picked it up.

The guy on the other end of the line was a British guy, same as me claiming (I distrust people automatically) to be from the MEXC crypto exchange and wanted to inform me that a suspicious login attempt to reset my password from Miami had been detected.

We discussed a bit further, he asked me if I use any other exchanges for my crypto activities and when I’d last used them.

He sounded kind of genuine, probably was but my suspicious mind was telling me, give him no information at all if he asks for it.

He kept saying this is a genuine call, we take security compromises very seriously.

Then we got cut off.

Odd.

This is incredible and mad. The guy I spoke to might have been genuine to be fair because I gave him nothing more than he already knew. I do have an account with MEXC but there is nothing there, only used it once. Now closing it down.

We all have to be so careful.
