lol yes. I think you and so many people had similar experiences—I did too. I want to support them and like it but it’s just not good.

Idk if the quality actually took a nose dive in the last 20 years or my standards just got higher since I’m not a teenager anymore. I remember a time when there were steak and shakes on every other corner with table service and decent burgers. That changed at some point in the last 20 years lol. Now there are just a handful in my city in not so great areas that serve meh quality food. Reorging supply chains takes a lot more time than a new marketing campaign though. Hopefully they come through on their promises.

Paying with lighting is cool though. I think the square terminal update is actually going to make a difference for me as I know actually good stores/coffeeshops/restaurants that use square. But still not as much as there used to be. A lot of the square copy cat companies have taken a large market share in my city in that tier of local food service / handmade food stuff.

I ask every food truck vendor if they accept bitcoin, now I can tell them they can. Do we know how widely it’s been rolled out by Square yet? Is it still in Beta?

On Nov 10, all square merchants will have the option to shift some % of their incoming payments directly into a "bitcoin" ledger that Square controls.

It's not clear whether they'll be able to easily send that to a wallet they control.

It's not clear (from what I've read) when they'll have the ability to accept bitcoin/LN payments from customers.

oh, whoops... I'm wrong!

> Bitcoin Conversions is available today to eligible US-based sellers,³ and Bitcoin Payments will be available on November 10, 2025.
