Anyone know of a bandwidth friendly nostr client for mobile?
I'm approaching 100 GB / month now with Amethyst, and I'm barely using the client throughout the day. Even if I was on it 24/7, that'd be an average of over 2 MB of data per minute.
This is also rediculously bad for the nostr relays who are likely serving the same data over and over and over.

Yeah I absolutely love Amethyst but Ive been rekt a few times by the data usage. My cell plan isnt even unlimited.

Damn that’s crazy. I’m on Damus a lot and I don’t think I’ve ever come close to that much data usage. Last billing period I had 14 GB used by Damus. I am on wifi a lot though. I’m using only 5 read relays for reading kind 1 events.

What is involved with setting up a relay bouncer?. Is it "set it and forget it"? Is there set up instructions for someone who's not super tech savvy? 🙏
I believe several clients have the capability to not auto play videos or adjust data loading. Could reducing the number of relays in the client help as well? Check on background data usage settings on the OS side perhaps too.
