So both https://www.themoneyillusion.com/ and https://slatestarcodex.com/ have abandoned their blogs which worked perfectly over many years and migrated to Substack. I imagine many other blogs I never knew about have done the same.
Why is that and what does it mean for us?
Substack made monetizing writing easy. People finally realized they can get paid for their thoughts.
Going where the audience is. Same thing that happened with YouTube and Spotify.

I was just researching since I have such a hard time figuring out long form on Nostr if I should consider substack or medium as I have so much writing I want to put out that has been stalled by technical issues. I'd still prefer Nostr... But the idea that substack is monetizelable is an attractive thought as a creator and writer.
