I started using #SimpleX (app)
really good so far! and delivers faster than Signal as far as I can tell.
I've been hearing good things about SimpleX. Thing is that I don't really use any of the apps. I have three contacts in Signal and Mum on WhatsApp. That's about it for chat apps.

Yeah... That's why I'm annoyed.
She's great. I met her in 2018 in Gibraltar and we spend a day trying to pay everywhere with Bitcoin. Finally found a place in the new trade centre, ordered the food and the girl typed the GBP amount into the BTC field in their app so she tried to charge us thousands of pounds for lunch (genuine mistake) 🤣
That's a cool story! I'm glad that she's as cool in person as she seems online. People like that are just better.

Indeed. there is even a pull request on their github to fix this. I guess Signal choose to ignore the issue.
They have to show proof of good faith to the 3 letter agencies IMO
