Think about it. The goal is to get out of cash asap and into a rare asset ie real estate. Then to a more rare asset like a monopoly and build up houses. The dollar is worthless and less with every roll until the people that got lucky early or out smart someone in a deal early own everything.

Most people who play the game see mortgaging as a last resort bad situation move.
Obv it's smart to mortgage property & use it to build a higher valued real asset portfolio - but that's a giga brain move if you're playing with regular people lol.
