Any theology nerds want to ponder this?

I had someone say "What can you give a God who has everything and doesn't need anything?" The thought was that God doesn't have quite everything, He doesn't have your heart. Thats the only thing you can give Him.

Agree/Disagree? What makes you say that?

Agreed.

God made us with free will, because He wanted us to freely want Him, and if we don't want Him, He will not violate that free will. He sees all and knows all, but He wants us to want Him, and to want to share everything with Him.

I'm not sure if it's true that He doesn't need anything... or maybe it's just that He wants us rather than need... he has community within Himself with the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and the Father, yet He wants us.

this makes me feel like i have a bargaining chip--jk i wouldn't bargain like that with anyone just seems fake. but why would God want your heart just because he can't have it?

Do you love anyone? If so, don’t you want to be with them?

Unrelated, but bone cancer in children means either God doesn't exist or he is a complete psychopath who does not deserve our respect or attention.

Perchance, but I would think that the problem of pain would rather prove His existence rather then disprove. But then you got to sort out what type of God He is. So I think your qualms is with the latter half of your response

It's not just the "problem of pain". Why would your god design bone cancer in babies? Babies are innocent.

The answer is because your god doesn't exist.

Sorry for your loss whatever/whomever it may be. Hope you find peace and joy in this life ❤️
