Honestly, this is pretty wild. While at the cottage, a friend of mine informed he spun up an instance of #nostr #safebox using my zero-config docker container behind a Cloudflare reverse-proxy.

I immediately got myself a wallet, issued my own NFC payment card, and connected to my Alby Go client on my iPhone.

Using my Android phone and another instance of #nostr #safebox I made a payment to (yes, payment to) the newly-issued NFC card. I then saw the payment transaction on my Alby Go client on my iPhone.

Using the NFC card, I can make payments from AND payments from. I also can send records to the holder of the NFC card. Basically, I have created a fully functional wallet where you don't even need to carry around your phone- just the card. If you lose the card - no problem - I have built in PIN authentication and you can re-issue your own card making your old one useless.

#nostr #safebox is turning into a fully functional payment (send and receive!) payment network that will also be able to send and receive records. And you don't even need to have a phone!
