you can definitely block people, it's just that noone has implemented this yet. Damus will have it. Not having blocking would be really bad.
I guess by block I mean mute here. you're right you can't do an equivalent of twitter block (not being able to see their posts). unless your client implemented that... I don't see why I should implement that in damus? Maybe just a UI indicator that you're blocked?
Although it's not really the same as mute because I'm thinking of storing this info in your contact list which would be public info. You don't know if you're muted on twitter.

generally i think this is the way to go for a more open and censorship resistant social media platform
yeah exactly, there's no point in trying to force other people to not see your content when you can just switch to another client that doesn't implement this. Block in damus will be filtering posts directed at you from other people.
Whats interesting is that you will be able to use contact lists for blocklists and follow lists.
I created 1265c1c3d41f0f05bf306224ec40628231a5086a2eaa36643b3982a4eba19c9f as a demo follow-list account and gave the private key to some bitcoiners
lol you lost me. is it like a dummy account that you can reference when creating a follow list for another user? is that user following anyone? I can't see any follows for them and don't know if its bc my client is wonky :)
Yes it's a dummy account that has a contact-list (kind 3) that lists cool bitcoiners. Clients should show contact lists. branle does on the profile page, albeit not a very obvious rendering of it.

yeah block in that form is definitely needed
