Are you solo mining? I can’t imagine with pool mining you will ever make back the $175 it costs to buy it.

Yeah you wouldn't get shit mining to a regular pool. You'd wait years for a payout.

I like solo mining because I like gambling.

This is what you would get running 6 of these @ 400MHz:

Unlikely to ever find a valid block hash, but still better odds than Powerball.

You just got one running right?

Chances are very low, but you are contributing hash and could win the lottery at a very low entry cost.

$168k per block atm.

4728 years doesn’t mean thats how many years it will take to win one block cause even that isn’t guaranteed.

Hash rate could drop significantly at some point and give you higher odds especially since it’s all random. You just don’t have as many lottery tickets as some other people.

Do you have any idea what the electricity cost of that device is per month?

Yeah it could find a valid block hash anytime between right now and 4000 years from now lol.

$168k per block is just counting the block subsidy. Fees add more, especially lately.

I'm only running one but I'm going to buy more until I have all the USB ports on that hub occupied. 7 ports, so six miners and one USB powered fan.

These things only pull a few watts, so the electricity cost is negligible. Less power than leaving an LED light bulb turned on.

Great idea. I might have to start working on this setup at some point. Not ready for this rn. We are about to move.

I'm just doing it for fun because my apartment is just not wired for me to be able to run 3600 watt ASICs.

My new place won’t be either. Just not willing to put the money in unless I have a good setup for it. Even if I could run 1 miner it’s still not really worth it imo.
