bets are on. what's going to happen first:

1) Ark uses Cashu for their Ark notes

2) Cashu uses Ark as a settlement layer

Both happen simultaneously

I like the concept of ecash tied to Bitcoin, but I wonder is it legal to run a mint? Don't you need a license (at least in the us)?

Hey, i smell a Fiat-Mind here. Did you miss the Exit? We're permissionless-Aficionados, no brainwashed mindset here please 😂

Sure, but permissionless+custodial often ends badly, ecash is not a new thing, I just can't see how it fits into Bitcoin right now, but there may be ways and hence my interest. BTW it was a honest question, no trolling intended.

I know, just wanted to gove you a heads-up 🫂

Judging from the question it sounds like both Cashu and Ark are inevitable, i.e. just a matter of timing. I understand why you think that way of Cashu but can you point me toward some learning material that gives you the conviction about Ark?

This is the type of thing which scares people away from bitcoin and friends. Every 5 minutes there's a new layer or protocol or something else.

2)

First Ark needs to go live. Wen Ark?

What the heck is Ark?!

I say 2 because I don't know what ark notes are. Thought they were already up and running on ark and came up with a version that didn't need covenants or whatever.
