Compelled to follow up. Turns out Apple saying we couldn’t return it was a glitch on the web site, took it into a store, they swapped it out for an actual speaker in two seconds, and I netted 80 cents on the exchange.

I like to bitch about these companies as much (more) as anyone, but in an era where nothing seems to work and customer service is shit, Apple is a well-oiled machine.

Also feel good about my decision to hold the line in the face of my complaining pre-teen and NOT buy her the Apple Music subscription.

Here for the bitching about big tech, but am glad to hear you held your ground and everyone's happy. Now good luck making sure she's not listening to shit music
