Foreigners can own property there no issues (Iām not French either). Once a price is agreed, both parties go to a notaire (notary) which can also be done remotely.
Biggest consideration is visas- EU citizens would have no problem. Others depending on nationality might be restricted to tourist visa, or would have to find a way to get a residence or work visa.
