And yet my kids schools, both in the US and New Zealand refused to make me, their dad, the primary contact for the kids. And in the later case it wasn’t until I repeatedly showed them that I had sole custody that they accepted that they needed to communicate with me instead of the kids mom who lives on the other side of the planet.

I don’t think it was intentional. It’s just their systems are setup to only have a single parent as contact or primary contact and then the office staff just kept making assumptions and reverting it to “mom”. They always apologized and fixed it but it kept happening over and over.
