I remember when I came to US and started attending school, we had to say the pledge of allegiance every morning in class. I thought it was weird af. It took me many years later to fully grasp the indoctrination kids were put through in the public school system. It’s brainwashing to pledge allegiance without understanding what it is you are actually saying and why you’d pledge anything to anyone or to any nation. And to think that this is what kids had to say EVERY DAY… 🤯
But I'm guessing society was much more cohesive at that time, and people weren't so divided?

Ya you got your news from your locally syndicated station owned by one media mogul 🤣
They still say the pledge every day in schools, so is it working to promote cohesion? I'd say no.
