Someone pill me on Costco. I’m leaning toward joining just to get the Lolli sats on groceries since there aren’t any other local supermarkets where I can do that.

Costco is good for bulk staples like paper towels, olive oil, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, etc.
But I don’t actually go there. You can pay to have it delivered now. 🤝
Yes! I saw we can get delivery from Instacart, and it costs less than Prime Fresh.
Yeah, we started instacarting in 2020 and never switched back. Prior to that, I’d burn half a weekend day lugging out to Costco to wait in line etc. Never again. Happy to pay people to do that for me.

I used to eat Jimmy Dean croissant sausage and egg sandwiches for breakfast every day. If I buy them from Costco instead of the grocery store the savings for the year on that one item alone is enough to pay for my membership.
I shop anywhere using my credit card then pay off the credit card with my Fold account. I get the credit card perks and the sats back through Fold.
holup. You are paying IRL things with Bitcoin, essentially?
I ask because I have been trying to find out one specific thing: How I could use Bitcoin to buy things that are paid with normal currencies like Euro (I think FIAT is the term?).
So could one use Fold and a regular Visa/Master to effectively pay with bitcoin? If so, then please do link that. :) I am interested!
I tried using the PayPal hack with AmEx and they rugged me by overriding my Fold card preference and forced the payment to go through my bank account.
Oh... damnit. :/

Yeah, I haven’t had any issues with using my linked fold card through PayPal. I wonder why they would use your bank account over the preferred payment method.
I think it might be an AmEx policy but they didn’t inform me about it until after they debited the wrong account.

Yeah, they did fix the issue. I remember there was a timeframe where the fold card couldn’t be linked, but it does work now. I have an AMEX that I pay off every month with the PayPal bill pay.
I got blindsided just like you and deleted PayPal but I tested this again with a friend’s PayPal and it worked! Haven’t tried with Amex yet

I thought this too but the draw of free sats for just Paying bills you have to pay anyways is too strong.
Definitely not pulling in a ton of sats but at least I’m getting some in return for dollars I’m spending on bills.
Yeah the old fold you could rake it in. Spin and get 2% or 3% back it was a passive stackers paradise. Now it’s super watered down
Worth it especially for stuff like bottled water, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee, other non-perishables, batteries, gas. The only food I usually buy there is stuff we go through a lot of like eggs, grapes and oranges (my kids eat them like crazy), and maybe some items I can freeze.

Makes sense for bulk purchases as you end up saving in the long run. The cash back on gas is good too. That said, maybe doesn’t make as much sense for NYC. You’ll need a car if you’re buying in bulk and parking in that garage was $6 per hour when I was last there. Might be even more now
Parking at East River Plaza is $6 for 2 hours, and Instacart delivery is the same price.
If you factor in the annual membership fee plus the parking/delivery fee, I’m not sure you end up saving too much
One of the big benefits of the those membership stores is they often have a discounted gas price which helps compared to regular gas stations. They are also awesome for being able to buy like 5 dozen eggs at a time. Most food is the same crap you get at any grocery store, just larger.
Try the pizza, $11 for a solid 8 maybe 8.5 you will agree even being from northeast. It’s cheesy and delicious.
Probably 6-7 years ago, the customer service at my local one was the worst of any place I’ve ever been. I had to cancel. It was just so irritating.
