Expert #[3]โ€‹ might be able to help!

#[2]โ€‹ LibreTranslate can be unreliable. Dumb question, when you selected NoKYCTranslate, did you add an API key and add sats to it? Can you also share your iOS preferred languages settings, Damus language settings, and link to a note that should have translated but didnโ€™t?

hi Terry, thanks for helping!

yes iโ€™ve added an API key and 1000 sats to it

the preferred language on my iPhone is Simplified Chinese

i attached a picture of the Damus language setting area (actually i didnโ€™t quite understand the meaning of the first option)

i just scrolled on universe timeline and found a random post, itโ€™s in Japanese but i cannot see the translation:

(excuse me for quoting your post ๐Ÿ™ใŠใ˜ใ‚ƒใพใ—ใพใ™๏ผ‰

I tried going to the note that you referenced by it doesn't exist for me.

Can you check your balance to make sure you still have enough sats? It costs 0.1 sats to translate each character. Also try closing and restarting Damus to clear the event cache.

What other preferred languages do you have set on the iPhone besides Simplified Chinese? There can be more than one. You can check in iOS settings by going to Settings > General > Language & Region.

nokyctranslate service is up and running

#[2]โ€‹ we got your payment so your API key should be working.

#[4]โ€‹ thanks for looking into it

i see!! after removing Japanese from the preferred languages the translation is working now, and it feels wonderful!

thank you so much! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ™

Awesome!

Fantastic! Yes, the thinking is that if the language is listed in settings as a preferred language, then we assume you understand it enough to use it in the app without assistance.
